The Rev. Erin Sloan Jackson is an ordained United Methodist Deacon serving in the Central Texas Conference. Her current role is to be the Associate Pastor of Missions at New World UMC in Arlington, Texas, although she has served in various ministry capacities for over 20 years. Her ministry passions include incorporating art as a spiritual practice, self-care and soul care advocacy, Christian Spiritual Direction, mission and outreach. As a United Methodist Deacon, she is called to a lifetime of service in ministries of Word, Service, Justice and Compassion.

Erin is passionate about being in ministry alongside young people and has Professional Certification in Youth Ministry in The United Methodist Church. She founded and directed Just One Starfish, a mentoring ministry that paired up Christian high school students with at-risk upper elementary school students for one on one mentoring.  She previously served as the National Director of Community and Care for The YouthWorker Movement.

Erin is a proud graduate of both Baylor University (Bachelor of Business, Economics) and the SMU Perkins School of Theology (Master of Arts in Ministry, Christian Spirituality track). She serves on the SMU Perkins School of Youth Ministry faculty and has been published in The Youthworker Journal and Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine.  Most importantly, Erin is married to Dennis and together they have four amazing children, Trey, Nate, Kathryn and Lucas.  Follow her on Twitter as erinjackso or right here on her blog, missionandart.com. 

Erin teaching Foundations 2014Erin loves her roles as a professional speaker, writer and spiritual coach. She has addressed audiences and taught seminars at the Youth Specialties National Youth Workers Convention, SMU Perkins School of Youth Ministry and several United Methodist Conference Youth Retreats.  She is available for speaking engagements and ministry events.     I’m a classmate from Baylor. Was just surfing the web to see where classmates have gone in last 24-years. Congratulations to Rev. Jackson. Long ways from encyclopedias in summer but she was always a great speaker and a fantastic person.
