The Rev. Erin Sloan Jackson is an ordained United Methodist Deacon serving in the Horizon Texas Conference. She has served in various ministry capacities for over 25 years, including associate pastor roles in missions, discipleship and outreach. Her ministry passions include incorporating art as a spiritual practice, self-care and soul care advocacy, Christian spiritual direction, mission and outreach. As a United Methodist Deacon, she is called to a lifetime of service in ministries of Word, Service, Justice and Compassion.
Erin is passionate about being in ministry alongside young people and has Professional Certification in Youth Ministry in The United Methodist Church. She founded and directed Just One Starfish, a mentoring ministry that paired up Christian high school students with at-risk upper elementary school students for one on one mentoring. She previously served as the National Director of Community and Care for The YouthWorker Movement.
Erin is a proud graduate of both Baylor University (Bachelor of Business, Economics) and the SMU Perkins School of Theology (Master of Arts in Ministry, Christian Spirituality track). She served on the SMU Perkins School of Youth Ministry faculty and has been published in The Youthworker Journal and Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine. Her debut into publishing a book was the small group Bible study, “Loving, Just & Free.” Most importantly, Erin is married to Dennis and together they have four amazing children, Trey, Nate, Kathryn and Lucas. Erin loves her roles as a professional speaker, writer and spiritual coach. She regularly speaks at Women’s Retreats. I’m a classmate from Baylor. Was just surfing the web to see where classmates have gone in last 24-years. Congratulations to Rev. Jackson. Long ways from encyclopedias in summer but she was always a great speaker and a fantastic person.
